it's a time of great crisis for the kondhs in niyamgiri, orissa. the niyamgiri hill which is at the core of their identity will now be dug for bauxite. the forests of niyamgiri are an ecological niche. its devastation will be a huge environmental loss. vedanta, a uk based mining giant has been given permission by the indian govt. for the same. a company with dubious environmental credentials.
